Tottenham Hotspur striker Son Heung-min sent a cheering message to a teammate who suffered an unfortunate injury.
Tottenham announced on the club’s official website on the 13th (Korean time) that “Rodrigo Bentancur will be unable to play the rest of the season due to a cruciate ligament rupture in his left knee.”
Bentancur started against Leicester City in round 23 of the Premier League in the 2022/23 season held at King Power Stadium on the 12th and played a good role, scoring a goal, but collided with Leicester midfielder Nangfalis Mendy in the 15th minute of the second half and collapsed on the pitch.
Bentancur, who collapsed on the pitch, was in great pain with his knees clenched. Bentancur, who left the field immediately because he could no longer play, was ruled out for the season through a detailed diagnosis.
Tottenham said, “Bentancur plans to undergo surgery with medical staff and begin rehabilitation,” and “all members of the club will support Bentancur.” 안전놀이터
When Bentancur, who scored 6 goals and 2 assists in 26 games this season, was unable to digest the rest of the season, Son Heung-min delivered a message of support to a colleague who suffered an unfortunate injury.
Son Heung-min cheered on his Instagram with a photo of him hugging Bentancur during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, saying, “Give strength to your recovering brother. You will be back soon.”
Son Heung-min and Bentancur played as members of the Korean and Uruguay national soccer teams in the group stage during the Qatar World Cup, respectively, and played a match without concessions.
The two players faced each other in the first leg of Group H’s group stage, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw, so the winner could not be determined. After the game, Son Heung-min approached Bentancur and shared a deep hug.
Prior to this, when Son Heung-min suffered an orbital fracture right before the World Cup, Bentancur comforted him.
Meanwhile, Tottenham players, including Son Heung-min, sent messages of support to Bentancur one after another and prayed for the recovery of their teammates.
Tottenham defender Cristian Romero also sent a cheering message on social media, saying, “I will really miss you like a bullfighter. You will all come back stronger.”
