‘Men’s Doubles Aces’ Jang Woo-jin and Lim Jong-hoon Win Back-to-Back World Championship Silver Medals

The barrier to first place was high.

The world No. 3 pair of Jang Woo-jin (Mirae Asset Securities) and Lim Jong-hoon (Korea Exchange) lost 0-3 (11-13 6-11 5-11) to the No. 1 pair of Fan Zhen-dong and Wang Chuchin (China) in the men’s doubles final at the 2023 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Individual World Championships in Durban, South Africa, on Sunday (July 27).

It was the second consecutive runner-up finish for Jang Woo-jin and Lim Jong-hoon, who also reached the men’s doubles final in Houston in 2021. They are the first Korean pair to reach back-to-back finals in the men’s doubles at the World Championships.메이저놀이터

Against the World No. 1s, Jang Woo-jin and Lim Jong-hoon put up an ironclad defense and led 7-3 in game one. But World No. 1’s walls were high. They quickly closed the gap as they began to find openings.

Fan Zhendong-Wang Chuqin took the first game after two deuces to take the lead. Jang Woo-jin and Lim Jong-hoon were unable to turn the tide in the ensuing game.
