Guardiola looks to surpass Hiddink, Ferguson, and make ‘new history’

He has a chance to be recognized as the greatest manager of all time. He wants to go where neither Gus Hiddink nor Alex Ferguson have gone before. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will attempt to become the first manager to win a second European treble.

Guardiola has led City to the English Premier League (EPL) and English FA Cup titles this season. He’s already won the “double crown. On June 11, Guardiola will complete the European treble by defeating Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final.

He has already traveled to Europe before. In the 2008-2009 season, he led FC Barcelona to the Spanish Primera Liga, Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup), and UEFA Champions League titles. He became only the fifth coach in history to win a European treble. And now he has a chance to earn his 10th.

He has won nine European titles. Only two teams have won two European titles. FC Barcelona (2008-2009, 2014-2015) and Bayern Munich (2012-2013, 2019-2020) have done it twice. But no manager has done it twice. If City lift the big prize this season – the UEFA Champions League trophy – Guardiola will become the first manager in history to win multiple European titles.메이저놀이터
