‘Again 2019’ Kim Eun-Joong-ho scores 2-1 win over France in U-20 World Cup opener

South Korea’s Kim Eun-joong made a strong start to their ‘Again in 2019’ campaign with a 2-1 victory over ‘powerhouse’ France in their first match of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023.

Led by captain Lee Seung-won (Gangwon), who scored a goal and added an assist, the South Korean U-20 team defeated France 2-1 in their first match of Group F at the Mendoza Stadium in Argentina on June 23 (KST).

It’s been six years since South Korea won their first group game at the U-20 World Cup since 2017 (3-0 win over Guinea).

At the previous tournament in Poland in 2019, South Korea lost their first match 0-1 to Portugal before rallying to finish as runners-up, their best-ever finish.
